It’s very sad to admit but yes this album is overlooked. It’s a great album by Gilmour him self that no one talks about, nor remembers.
I personally love this album & often play it. ‘Murder’ is a brilliant song. Another masterpiece is the instrumental ‘Let’s get Metaphysical’ with no rhythm in this music at all, very impressive!

Absolutely agree with the reviewer that this ’84 released gem is a relatively forgotten classic. The musicianship, flow and PF vibe combined with extraordinary well written tracks always make this my favorite Gilmour studio solo release even over very good ‘On An Island’ and ‘Rattle That Lock’ albums.

Great album! Murder is a masterpiece! Therer are very beautifull songs, great solos and arrangements. But the 80’s was dominated by pop and movements of tribes (gotics, hard core, reagge…). It’s really sad.

I remember buying About Face when I was in college. I played the hell out of that album and in my opinion it stands up to Pink Floyd’s best stuff very well. I think it’s Gilmours best solo album. A definite diamond in the rough. It’s a shame you don’t hear any of this stuff on classic rock stations. Yes All Lovers are Deranged

I never listened it back untill I found it on spotofy. First time was in the beggining of th e 80’s, and I found it amazing! I was lucky I had a cassette recorder at that time. And I was the only in my circle of friends who had it, wow!
When the host said that Jeff Porcaro did the arrangements I thought to myself, this is gotta be good. What a masterpiece it was.
I think Dave should try to play it again live.

Dreadful album. I own it but won’t ever play it. Dave ran back to the Floyd brand after this flop.

I have always liked this album a lot. It is Gilmour’s best solo album by far. “Blue Light” and “All Lovers are Deranged” are about as roll and roll as you can get. Dave has always taken his music seriously, and this album seems like he was able to just let loose a little. It should be appreciated more than it is.
