Time has been good for this album. Can’t say the same for much of 90s grunge

As I sit here listening to “Counterparts” on my headphones, it’s just an amazing album. I get a COMPLETELY different vibe from the album than the reviewer. It’s an “always go to” tome to listen to when you want some serious musicianship. It comes together like mechanical parts that snap into place. Just a real “gem!”

Completely agree. Very solid album chock full of amazing musicianship. It did well commercially because many of the songs are hooky and radio friendly, even if they didn’t get much airplay.

This was a great album and while it shares some sounds with grunge of the time it rises way above the genre. I was glad to se the group move away from synths and get back to that harder groove. Funny but a lot of grunge and alternative bands said they were directly inspired by Rush. the kings of progressive. the reviewer just doesn’t get it.
